December 8-12, 2025

Christmas time is here!

The Pre-K boys and girls are definitely in the Christmas spirit! Between the Christmas work on the shelves, making some amazing Christmas crafts, and preparing for the Christmas show, the joy is palpable in our classroom!

Today, the students drew a picture of something special to them about Christmas and then shared with the class:

Wolf made a Christmas tree and
his sister, Willa.

Aline drew a Christmas tree with presents.

Louis drew a present with Christmas
tree wrapping paper.

Eli made a candy cane.

Emily drew a Christmas rainbow.

Jack drew Christmas people.

Rogan made presents.

Sarah made a Christmas rainbow.

Khadijah drew Shiv next to her
Christmas tree.

Shiv made a Christmas tree with
snowflakes falling.

Mia drew herself and her mom
next to their Christmas tree.

An made Santa next to his Christmas tree.

Kai drew Christmas show practice
with Miss Nast.

 Toys for Tots!

The Pre-K and Kindergarten students were eager to see how many toys we collected. We brought all the donation bins to our classrooms and the students sorted them into various categories - baby toys, vehicles, dolls, puzzles/games, and more! Then, they were able to count them in smaller groups and get to our grand total!

Thank you to all the families who supported Pre-K and Kindergarten's Toys for Tots drive. Because of the generosity of the HCA community, we were able to collect over 100 toys. The students were so proud of all they were able to accomplish and knew they helped to make Christmas brighter for children in need!

Wins of the Week!

Montessori education is rooted in the belief that each child learns at his/her own pace, and that growth should be celebrated whenever it happens. In our classroom, that means meeting every child exactly where they are, supporting their unique learning journey, and acknowledging each milestone along the way. This week, the boys and girls have been deeply engaged in their individual lessons, and we’re excited to share some examples of three big accomplishments!

Louis worked with the Hundred Board.
He grouped numerals in groups of 10 and then
ordered those numerals from 1 to 100!

Bennett read the class the directions to
our Weekly Reader game.

Kady mastered letter names and sounds
for SMAT and was able to sort picture
cards by those initial sounds.
