 Nature Space Ribbon Cutting

Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, family, and friends who were able to join us for the Nature Space Ribbon Cutting on Tuesday. It was a wonderful morning with our HCA community celebrating this wonderful addition to our early childhood program!

The Pre-K and Kindergarten students did a phenomenal job singing "What a Wonderful World" for our guests! We are so proud of them. A huge shout out to Mrs. Clay for preparing the children and to Ms. Brown for her accompaniment on the piano!

With the change in weather and even cooler days on the horizon, please send in a seasonal change of clothes for your child. We will return the summer clothes once we have them.

  • Please label everything that comes to school! Now that many children are wearing sweaters/sweatshirts to school, they can easily get mixed up in the classroom or gym when students take them off.
  • Pre-K and Kindergarten are hosting a Toys for Tots drive at HCA! Please send in an unwrapped toy now through December 6. Help us help those in need!

Please have your child prepare three clues to help their classmates guess what object they chose to share. The show and tell topics for the remainder of 2024:
  • Friday, November  29 - no school
  • Friday, December 6 - something that begins with /p/
  • Friday, December 13 - something to do with Christmas

Uniform Schedule for Next Week:

Monday,11/25 - Tuesday, 11/26: regular uniforms

Uniform Schedule for the following week:

Monday, 12/2 - Thursday, 12/5: gym uniforms
Friday, 12/6: regular uniforms

We are thankful that you chose HCA for your child and are thrilled to be a part of their educational journey! May you all have a Happy Thanksgiving with your families!

November 11-15, 2024

 All Religions Month

As a part of our DEIJ program, in November we are celebrating All Religions month. We were excited to welcome Munkar's mom who taught us about Islam and Henry in Kindergarten's pop-pop who taught us about the African Methodist Episcopal church. The students were able to learn about those faiths and compare them to the Catholic faith we learn about in school. It was a great morning together!

Montessori Lessons

In a Montessori classroom, changing out lessons regularly is important because it allows teachers to cater to individual student needs, encourage continuous development by introducing new challenges as children master concepts, and maintain engagement by providing variety in activities. This week in Pre-K, the students were so excited to be introduced to several new lessons!

Sophia is working on fall patterns.

Francesca is matching sea creatures.

Miles built the fire truck puzzle -
without even using the frame!

Enzo is using the Metal Insets to trace
shapes and then practice making left
to right lines for handwriting development.

Gianni is tracing lines and shapes.

Cal is practicing snipping with scissors.

Seth is working on the parts of a flower puzzle.

Jack is working on the parts of a leaf puzzle.

Evelyn is using the Metal Insets to
develop her handwriting skills.

Aubrie is strengthening her fine motor
skills using the screwdriver board.

Fiona is tracing lines of varying directions.

Munkar is working on the parts of a
tree puzzle.

Ace is developing his fine motor skills,
hand-eye coordination, and balance skills.

Please have your child prepare three clues to help their classmates guess what object they chose to share. The show and tell topics for November are:
  • Friday, November 22 - something that begins with /r/
  • Friday, November  29 - no school

Uniform Schedule for Next Week:
