On Wednesday, September 24, the topic for show and tell will be "my family." Please send you child in with a photo (or a drawing) of your immediate family to share with the class. Help your child prepare to name each family member and share one thing you like to do together.

Montessori Practical Life

Montessori Practical Life activities are an essential part of the Pre-K classroom because they build independence, confidence, and important life skills. Through tasks like pouring, tweezing, buttoning, or folding clothes, children strengthen fine motor control, coordination, and concentration while also developing responsibility and care for their environment. These activities are purposeful and meaningful, helping children feel capable and valued. In addition, Practical Life work lays the foundation for academic learning by fostering order, focus, and perseverance - skills that support success in all areas of development!

This week, we focused solely on the Practical Life area of our classroom during Montessori Work Time. In small groups, students reviewed how to carry a tray, bring their work to a table, do the work, return it to the proper space on the shelf, and then choose another work, continuing the work cycle. In the group, students took turns with each lesson and then had time to practice their work individually.

Physical Education class

The Pre-K students love going to P.E. class with Ms. Mann. Check out some of the fun they had this week!

Happy 5th birthday to Mia and Bennett!

This week, we celebrated Mia's birthday! The children loved dancing along to the "Pup, Pup Boogie!" from Paw Patrol!

We also had an early celebration for Bennett who will turn 5 this weekend! The boys and girls (and the teachers) giggled so much watching this video from Bennett's parents and then danced along to "Move It!" from Madagascar!
