March 9-13, 2026

 Back to the Playground!

The sun was shining, the weather was warm, and we were FINALLY back on the playground. Everyone was having so much fun - we didn't want to come back inside!

Special Guest!

Siobhan's grandmother joined us for lunch on Wednesday and quickly became Gigi to everyone! Shiv and her Pre-K friends loved talking with her all during lunch and she was a big help when it came time to buy our ice cream. It was a moment of pure joy for everyone! My favorite thing I overheard was: "Gigi, I hope you don't mind, but we planned to talk about worms during lunch today."

Gigi was at school as part of the Grandparents Association to help fill Easter eggs for our upcoming Easter egg hunt in a few weeks. If your child's grandparent is interested in joining the Grandparents Association, please reach out to Joan Kleckner (jkleckner@holychildacademy.com).

Happy 5th birthday, Eli!

Eli's mom came to read us Please Don't
Read This Book! which Pre-K quickly named
"the funniest story EVER!"

Birthday buddies, Eli and Sienna '27
Sienna is one of our morning greeters -

Board Game Fun!

After all the fun we had with Kai's 100th Day board game last week, the boys and girls asked if we could add board games to our Fun Friday routine - so of course we said yes! Since Kai's "Frights and Flights" was modeled after "Chutes and Ladders," we decided to play that first. While of course we had fun, the students also practiced number recognition, counting using one-to-one correspondence, following directions, taking turns, and being a good sport!

Stay tuned to see what we play next week! Our goal is to teach the children to play several games and then allow them to play the games independently with each other.

Reminders:

We are asking that you (and your family and friends) write letters or postcards to the students and mail them to us at school.  When they arrive, we will place them in the mailbox that we will have in our classroom. We are planning on sharing the letters at our morning meeting time and then will plot where the letter came from on our world map and/or USA map. The letters can be sent from now through the end of the school year.

We would love to receive mail from as many different places as possible, so please spread the word! When sending mail to the school, please use the following address:

HCA Pre-K
475 Shadeland Avenue
Drexel Hill, PA 19026

Our first pieces of mail arrived this afternoon and the boys and girls are SO excited! We received mail from New Jersey, Florida, California, and New York!
