May 28 - June 1, 2018

For the past two months, we have been incorporating more whole group and small group work into our day to prepare for Kindergarten. The students love this time when they get to work like the "big kids" do. It is a great way for the children to improve their academic skills, as well as work on listening and following multi-step directions and proper posture and pincer grasp.

Monkey bar mania has hit the Pre-K! The children are really developing their upper arm strength and coordination to cross the monkey bars!

They especially love to show off all the "tricks" they can do. "Look at me! Look at me!" is a phrase we often hear outside on the playground.

The rock wall continues to be a popular place to be - look at how fast we can climb!

Yesterday, we had a special treat - Priya and Tatum brought their cellos to school and had a cello concert for us! We even invited our friends in Nursery 2 and Nursery 3 to join us! Priya and Tatum taught us what the various pieces of the cello are called, as well as what their purpose is - the scroll, the fingerboard, the strings, the bridge, the "S" holes, the bow, and, everyone's favorite, the frog! Priya played "Wind Song" and Tatum played "Seesaw." Then, together, they played "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and all the boys and girls joined in and sang. Finally, the girls answered questions that their classmates had about playing the cello. We are so proud of both Priya and Tatum for sharing their talents with us and a big thank you to their parents for bringing the cellos to school!

Some reminders:

  • Pizza lunch forms and money for the last day of school are due no later than Monday, June 4.  Please remember to pack a drink for your child and we will provide everyone with dessert. If your child does not like pizza, please pack him/her a lunch because cafeteria services will not be available.
  • The last day of school is Wednesday, June 6.

We were a great audience for the Middle School
One-Act Plays.

Have a great weekend!
