Summer Senses Adventure Projects
The Pre-K students were so excited to share their projects with each other. We talked about standing tall, speaking loud and proud, and looking at our classmates while sharing. They did a phenomenal job and we love hearing how they experienced summer through their senses.

In STEAM class, we had to collaborate with our partners to build something together.
In P.E. class, we are working on our balancing skills!
Play Time
Whether it's in the classroom, on the playground, or in the Nature Space, we LOVE to play together!

We are already so good at listening to and following directions and listening to stories!
Who is the tallest in our class? "I think it's Wes!" "I think it's Aston!" Wait a minute...
We even started working on our Montessori lessons!
Apples!
In Science this week, we learned about apples - parts of an apple, how apples grow, and some of the many different kinds of apples (did you know there is an apple called a hidden rose apple that is pink inside?). We experimented and the students predicted that the apples would sink when placed in water, but were surprised to learn that they actually floated!
Then came the best part - tasting apples! We had four different kinds of apples - Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith (or the grandma apple as the kids called it!), and Honeycrisp. Everyone took a turn helping to slice the apples and then it was time to taste them! The students did an excellent job describing how each apple tasted and then shared their favorites - and of course posing for some silly apple pictures!
We cooked the apples all morning and then mashed them up! They were too hot to eat today, so we will be saving them for next week. Stay tuned for more apple fun!
Show and tell will be most Wednesdays throughout the school year and we will start next week! Please place all show and tell items in your child's backpack or a separate bag. Please help your child prepare three clues to give their classmates to help them guess which object they chose to share. The schedule will be as follows:
- Wednesday, September 30: something to do with Fall/Autumn
- Wednesday, October 7: something that begins with the /s/ sound
- Wednesday, October 14: something that begins with the /m/ sound
- Wednesday, October 21: something that begins with the /t/ sound
- Wednesday, October 28: something to do with Halloween
Happy belated birthdays to Aston, Xavier, Jaanaki, and Emerson!
The first few weeks of school have been so much fun and we are looking forward to a year of learning and growing together!

- Please label everything that comes to school with your child's name - especially sweatshirts and sweaters!
