Spirit Week Fun!

Early Childhood Celebration

Thank you for joining us for a spectacular morning celebrating all the children have learned this year! Over the past month, the Pre-K students have LOVED learning about the life cycle of a chick with their kindergarten friends and they LOVED being able to share all they learned with all of you!

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to spend with us! It meant so much to all the children (and all of us) to have you here!

That afternoon, we continued the Pre-K and Kindergarten fun by having a "sleepover!" You'll be surprised to hear that hardly anyone slept haha!

The students were able to share the stories they wrote with you with their classmates. After each story, the children decided if it was a fiction or non-fiction story and were able to explain why. The giggles from the fiction stories could be heard down the hall!

It's hard to believe that the farmer will be at HCA on Tuesday to bring the chicks back home to the farm to live with all the other chickens. The kids are already feeling sad about this, so I am sure there will be some tears on Tuesday. They asked if we could take a picture of all the chicks and send it to their parents so they could always remember them! Fingers crossed I can get a nice "group shot!"

This week we welcomed Emerson's parents and Khadijah's mom!

Peace Out Party: 

Tuesday, May 26, will be the Peace Out Party courtesy of Shiv's grandmother! All PreK students are welcome to stay all day and enjoy a fun afternoon of water slides set up on the field followed by a sweet treat. We will not have rest time on Tuesday so be prepared for some tired kiddos!

Please send the following with your children on Tuesday, May 26:

• Bathing suit
• Water shoes or sandals with backstrap to walk to slides on field
• Towel
• Sunscreen
• Plastic bag for wet swimsuit and towel

Students will be changing into/out of their swimsuits with teachers available to help if needed (similar to Summer Camp).  Remember to practice at home before Tuesday so they are comfortable changing into their suit on their own.  Students will change back into their gym clothes for dismissal/Plus following the event.  

Friday, May 29

There will be early dismissal on Friday, May 29, due to graduation. Students should be picked up from the Penn Avenue parking lot between 3:00-3:15 if possible! HCA Plus will run as normal.

Monday, June 1

EC Field Day! All students are invited to attend.

Wednesday, June 3

Last day of school! All students should wear their regular uniforms. Dismissal will be at 12:00 noon. There will be no lunch and no HCA Plus.
